Joining my First Blog Hop~~Kinda Scary~~

Good Friday Morning everyone!  I have decided to join in my first EVER Blog Hop.  This one is exciting and kinda scary because it's a Blog Review party.  This means, these lovely ladies or gents come visit you, look around your little blog and then hopefully, in a nice way tell you ways to improve, what the like, etc. etc...Will these people like your blog, will they like me?  so STRESSFUL!!
I've only been doing this blog for about 4 months and I know there are many things to improve on.  I myself enjoy it for the meeting of new people and the wonderful, new friends I have met.  I am okay with my blog in the safety of it's page, but will other people enjoy it. (And truthfully, I am just excited and surprised as heck that I got this thing to work!  Because, the computer and myself do not get along!) So, you know, what the heck, I'm going to give this a try.

Please give Gail @My Repurposed Life and MeganDVD @Beauty in the Attempt a Look and Shout out at their Amazing blogs also!!  Thank you Ladies for hosting this Hop!! You are welcome to join the party here......

  3. Hi Denise -- loving this oh-so-fun blog you have here! The colors are fab and your posts are fun to read.
1 thing I would suggest is to move your About Me blurb and your pages section to the top of the column. That way we can see who are visiting when we first "walk" in :)
Keep up the good work -- I look forward to reading even more of your lovely blog.

  5. Hello my dear! Thank you for linking up and inivtng us into your little world. I think the scrapbook element of your overall design is very unique and pleasing. When I visit a blog, I love to see "you" and follow you. SO...my gentle suggestion would be to move up the About you section..afterall this is your little world and you should be the feature before anything. Also...I would then follow with your followers so people can immediately follow your journey..and then..I would have your button. :) I find it delightful that you have pictures at the bottom of the blog. I would suggest centering them...make them the showcase for your followers to drool over. Once again these are just gentle thoughts. I know that taking a risk and putting yourself out there is very scary, but you should feel so proud and empowered. I hope that you are not a no-reply when dealing with comments. I always love being able to respond to my bloggers. Also...if you need anything, Gail and I would love to help. Just let us know what we can do. :)

Have a great finish to the weekend, and I hope this is the beginning of seeing more of you in little blog world. :)

    Cheers~

  6. Hi Denise,

The site is looking good! Here's a couple of ideas: Put the pages across the top with tabs. Move your archives up and ways for people to follow and connect with you towards the top. Resize your dog photos on the sidebar to fit in that space (email me about this if you need help).

I love the colors and the style. Very cute. Thanks for following along and drop me a note if you need help with any of this.

  7. Denise, thanks so much for joining in our party and putting the code on your site!
I like your header, and the colors of your background. I too think you should put your about me at the top.
I recommend that your links should open in a new window to keep your readers on your page. shoot me an email and I'll tell you how you can easily fix that.
    Very nice blog, great pictures!
the pictures at the bottom are a nice surprise. (beautiful kiddos and furbabies)
    can you center them?
I hope you found this to be a great experience!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions - I have implemented some already, and I like it a lot more now. I really like the two column layout like you have, I have copied you :)

I also love the colors. Mine is quite pale in comparison, but I adore your happy brights!

  10. Hi Denise,
Visiting from the blog hop... I love the colors in your blog, I'm a big fan of colors! I love your project a day as well. Your family is beautiful, but I would have missed them if I hadn't scrolled all the way down, maybe they could be on the side or on their own page?

  11. Hello! Im visiting from the Blog Hop :0) the brown and blue of your blog colors are some of my favorite combos. Great job!! My only comment would be that some of the photos on your sidebar "spill" out fo the column and this can look a bit unpolished (but those pups are just so darn CUTE. Oh and I almost missed all the photos at the bottom. Maybe a designated "photo" page would better showcase them?

    Kepp up the great work!

  12. Hi there. Stopping in from the Bold and Beautiful blog hop. First, I love the type set you used for the Recycled, Reused . . . part. And your blog button is adorable. I like the header but I would suggest making the title bigger. Right now the message is shouting louder than the title. Also, things were very slow to load on my computer. Could just be me or the browser (Safari). All said, you've definitely got my attention. I'm a new follower!

  13. I like the banner and design of your blog, the only thing I would change is to break up your writing a little more... since there are so many scan readers out there, they may pass by your blog because they don't want to read so much... just a thought.

  15. Hi Denise...
First off, I am totally impressed by how many things you have been able to accomplish! What an ambitious goal:) And your wreath turned out great... I like that you used different papers.

I like your header, but I can see the point that the blog title gets lost... the description is what I noticed first. I like your font that you used in your header.

My suggestion? What is taking up the space between "You can dream" and "my etsy"? Maybe go in an remove the big blank space. Also, you could redo your etsy mini so that you don't have a big space after that. Only because that would lift everything on your sidebar:)

Other than that I think you have a fun, exciting place here... following to see what you make next.
